How much principal can be used for intraday foreign exchange trading?
Day trading risk management
Day traders should not take on more than 1% of their Forex account on a single tradeRisk ManagementYou should make this a hard and fast rule. This means that if you have $1,000 in your account, the most you want to risk on a trade is $10. if you have $10,000 in your account, you shouldn't risk more than $100 per trade.
Even great traders can experience a string of losses. If you keep the risk of each trade to a small extent, consecutive losses will not seriously deplete your capital.
pip value and lot size
The movement of the foreign exchange market is expressed in points. Let's say the price of the euro-dollar (EUR/USD) currency pair is 1.3025. This means that the first currency in the pair, the so-called base currency, is worth 1 euro at $1.3025.
If the EUR/USD price changes to $1.3026, that's a pip move. If it changes to $1.3125, that's a 100 pip move.

Currency pairs are traded in units of 1,000, 10,000, or 100,000, which are called micro, mini, and standard lots.
When the US dollar is second in a currency pair, such as the EUR/USD orAUD/USD(AUD-USD), and when your account is funded in USD, the pip value per lot is fixed. If you hold a mini lot of 1,000 units, the change value of each pip is $0.10. If you hold a mini lot of 10,000 lots, then the move of each pip is $1, if you hold a standard lot of 100,000 lots, then the move of each pip is $10. Pip values will vary depending on price and currency pairs, so knowing the pip value of the currency pair you are trading is essential to determine position size and risk.

Stop Loss Order
When trading currencies, it is important to setStop Loss, in case the price moves in the opposite direction. A simple stop-loss order is one where the price of the stop-loss order is 10 points lower than the current price when you expect the price to rise, or 10 points higher than the current price when you expect the price to fall.
Intraday trading principal requirements
$500 account
Now suppose you open an account with $500, you can risk up to $5 per trade. For example, you can place a stop loss 10 pips from the entry price and buy 5 micro lots, which is within the risk limit (because 10 pips x $0.10 x 5 micro lots = $5 risk).
Alternatively, if you choose to place your stop at 25 pips from the entry price, you can buy two micro-lots, limiting your trading risk to less than 1% of your account. You can only buy two micro-lots because 25 pips x $0.10 x 2 micro-lots = $5.
$5,000 account
If you start at $5,000, you have more flexibility.
Your maximum risk is $50 (1% of $5,000), and you can trade with mini lots because each pip is worth $1, and you've chosen a stop loss of 8 pips. Divide the risk ($50) by (8 pips x $1) to get 6.25 mini lots, which is the number of mini lots you can buy without exceeding the risk.
With this amount of capital and a risk of $50 per trade, the earning potential goes up, and traders have the potential to earn between $50 and $150 per day, or more, depending on their foreign exchange strategy.
