How do foreign exchange beginners get started with foreign exchange speculation? What should foreign exchange beginners pay attention to before opening a position for the first time? (Figure 1)

    1. First understand the foreign exchange market

Spending time on foreign exchange education will definitely help you succeedforeign exchange marketAs a novice, you will definitely encounter some foreign exchange concepts that you do not understand. At this time, the reliability of information sources is crucial.

To become a successful Forex trader, it is important to be well-grounded before opening a position, as this will enable you to effectively manage risk. The basics of Forex are easy to learn, but all traders still need to practice to gain a deeper understanding of the details of the industry.

Forex beginners must know about the operation of the foreign exchange market, active foreign exchange trading hours, and risk management.

    2. Explore your trading patterns and habits

No trading strategy or technical indicator can guarantee you long-term profits in Forex trading. The most important thing is for traders to find a trading strategy that suits their personality. Some Forex traders only need one trading strategy to succeed, while others may need to try to develop multiple different Forex trading strategies. A diverse trading portfolio and good risk management are the keys to a dual trading strategy.

However, beginners are advised not to use two similar strategies. This action will create too much correlation and may also lead to huge losses.

    3. Choose a reliable Forex broker

Forex brokers are intermediary entities between retail traders and the foreign exchange market or the interbank system, with transactions conducted between their main banks. Brokers provide financial services to facilitate the buying and selling of foreign exchange currencies by retail traders. Basically, forex brokers are like traders' business partners, and choosing a reliable forex broker is a crucial part of your success in forex trading.

Choose a reliable Forex broker to trade with instruments and assets that suit your style. Reliable Forex brokers on the market offer clients excellent trading conditions and trading opportunities. There are several factors to consider when choosing a Forex broker, including regulatory compliance, diverse trading assets, an excellent customer service team and an advanced trading platform.

    4. Get started with the user interface of the foreign exchange trading platform as soon as possible

It is also important to get used to the user interface of the trading platform, as this avoids problems like placing the wrong order. Make sure you are familiar with the buttons on the platform when executing your order. MT4 is relatively simple compared to other platforms. However, this does not mean that you should start trading immediately. Trading Forex demo is the best way to get familiar with the trading platform without worrying about losing money.

    5. Choose a foreign exchange currency pair you want to trade

Forex trading is basically the exchange of one currency for another. The process of exchanging two currencies against each other is also collectively referred to by players as a currency pair.

Most foreign exchange traders prefer to trade major currency pairs with higher liquidity. Due to the high liquidity of major currency pairs and low spreads, the relevant technical analysis will be more accurate than other currency pairs, and the possibility of slippage is also low.

The seven major currency pairs include:

    • EUR/USD (Euro to US Dollar)
    • USD/JPY (US Dollar to Japanese Yen)
    • GBP/USD (GBP/USD)
    • AUD/USD (Australian Dollar to US Dollar)
    • USD/CAD (US Dollar to Canadian Dollar)
    • USD/CHF (US Dollar to Swiss Franc)
    • NZD/USD (New Zealand Dollar to US Dollar)

An exotic currency pair is a pair between the currency of a developing country and a major currency for trading. For example, when the main currency is USD and Turkish lira TRY, USDTRY is an exotic currency pair. The volatility of exotic currency pairs is high, resulting in relatively high transaction fees.

    6. Add technical indicators to the chart

After selecting the currency pair you want to trade, you can add some technical indicators to the chart to help you conduct technical analysis and make better trading decisions. Moving Average is one of the most popular technical indicators, which shows the average price of a currency pair over a period of time.

    • Click "in the MT4 platform.input"And move the mouse to"Technical indicators"Up.
    • At this moment, all the technical indicators on the platform will be displayed, and traders can click on the technical indicators they wish to add.
    • Traders can set the technical indicator according to their preferences for parameters, colors, and levels.
    • Click "OK"The technical indicators appear in the chart."

After completing the above steps, the moving average appears.

    7. Choose the right trading lot size

Just getting started with foreign exchange is that you may be confused by the concept of hand size. As long as the hand size is wrong, a trading account can be destroyed at any time due to huge losses. There are some subtle differences between the hand size of foreign exchange and other financial marekts, but once understood, it is very simple. The most important thing is to determine how much risk you can take on each trade. I recommend that the risk level of each trade must be less than 2% of the account balance.

    8. Pay attention to the relevant spreads

Spread refers to the difference between the highest bid price and the lowest ask price, and the spread is calculated in pips (English: Pip). Spread is basically one of the costs when executing foreign exchange transactions.

Spreads are one of the key topics in Forex trading. Traders must know how much price movement is required to offset the spread fee. For example, if you set 10 pips as the arbitrage level and the relevant spread is 2 pips, the fee can be quite high compared to the profit.

    9. Set stop loss and arbitrage levels

Risk management can help traders avoid big losses. Traders can usually set up stop-loss or arbitrage pending orders in advance, so that their trades can be automatically positioned squaring, and they can control their profits and losses. By doing so, traders can make disciplined decisions about the risks of their trades. Although it may seem simple, traders who manage their risks well are more likely to profit in the foreign exchange market than others.

    10. Click to execute your first foreign exchange transaction, and the first opening is completed!

After completing all the above steps, it is finally time to place your first trade. Just confirm that the order is submitted. Of course, there are cases where the order issue comes from a Forex broker. In this case, the trader must contact the relevant broker and provide the order ticket number to handle similar issues.

Beginners in foreign exchange speculation often think that making money from foreign exchange is a piece of cake, but this is not the case. The process of growing from a beginner to a professional level is quite difficult. To survive in this industry in the long run, discipline and risk management are king. Realize why you want to trade foreign exchange, and follow the trading plan strictly while enjoying the fun of trading to succeed in foreign exchange trading.
