BCR foreign exchange tracking stop function application analysis
existBCR ForexIn trading, trailing stops are a useful risk control aid. When an investor buys or sells at a certain price and sets a stop loss, the trailing stop function comes into play. For example, setting a 25-point trailing, once the exchange rate exceeds the bid price by 25 points, the system will automatically adjust the stop loss level: every time the price hits a new high, the stop loss level will be updated to the highest point minus 25 points. Suppose you are long the euro at 1.2320, when the exchange rate rises to 1.2350, the stop loss level will be moved up to 1.2325; when it continues to rise to 1.2380, the stop loss level will be adjusted again to 1.2355. This cycle, until the exchange rate falls below 25 points from the highest point, the automatic position squaring. This mechanism is particularly convenient for investors who do not have time to keep staring.
Another common method of moving stops is not so flexible. For example, if you are long the euro at 1.2000, set a moving stop of 30 points, and the initial stop loss is 1.1950. Only when the exchange rate rises by more than 30 points (such as reaching 1.2031) will the stop loss be adjusted to 1.2000. That is, if the exchange rate does not exceed 30 points, the stop loss level will not move. Although this mode is not as sensitive as the full tracking type, it still provides some protection compared to no stop loss function at all.
There is also a type of trailing stop that takes effect as soon as it is activated. For example, if you are long 1.2000 euros and set a 30-point trailing stop, the system will immediately subtract 30 points from the current price to generate a stop loss level (1.1970). After every 1 point increase, the stop loss will also move up by 1 point simultaneously, and the stop loss level will only continue to shrink rather than expand. Even if the stop loss is triggered, the loss will be controlled within 30 points. This design of tracking in the direction of profit can effectively protect floating profits and is a BCRForex PlatformA widely recognized feature.
There are differences in the starting conditions of trailing stops on different platforms. Some platforms require the buying price to exceed the set tracking point before activation, such as setting 20 points, and it will not be triggered if the price only rises by 19 points. Others require the price to exceed the set point by a certain range (such as starting to move after exceeding 30 points), and even sometimes the system does not respond in time even if the conditions are met, which is not friendly to investors. Choosing a trailing stop tool with stable functions and timely startup like BCR Forex can better help traders manage risks.
