Vale: Production and Sales Report for Quarter 1, 2026

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, April 16, 2026

Vale continued its strong production and sales momentum in Quarter 1 in 2026, with a number of assets hitting new production records. In the iron ore business, the continued climb of new assets to increase production drove steady production growth, while sales reached the highest level in Quarter 1 since 2018. In the copper and nickel businesses, both copper and nickel production achieved double-digit growth, with copper production at the best level in Quarter 1 since 2017 and nickel production at the best level in Quarter 1 since 2020.

In Quarter 1 2026, iron ore production totaled 69.70 million tonnes, up 3% year-on-year (2 million tonnes). This increase was driven by record production at the S11D and Brucutu mines, as well as continued ramp-up at Capanema and VGR1 projects. Iron ore pellet production reached 8.20 million tonnes, up 14% (1 million tonnes) year-on-year. This increase was driven by improved performance at Tubar? o pellet plant. Iron ore sales were 68.70 million tonnes, up 4% year-on-year (2.60 million tonnes), in line with production growth.

In Quarter 1 2026, copper production totaled 102,300 tonnes, up 13% year-on-year (11,400 tonnes). This growth was driven by record production in the Salobo and Sossego operations, as well as solid operations at the Voisey's Bay polymetallic mine.

In Quarter 1 2026, nickel production totaled 49,300 tonnes, an increase of 12% (5,400 tonnes) year-on-year. This increase was driven by the full-quarter operation of On? a Puma 2 and the robust operation of the Voyce Bay underground mine, which drove the Long Harbour nickel refinery to a Quarter 1 production record.
