What can be harmful to the trading system?
When trading Forex, human emotions can cause all kinds of problems, and all successful traders know this. It is for this reason that many traders have created trading systems to try to eliminate their negative emotions and keep a cool head when trading.
This makes a lot of sense. Trading systems are indeed necessary to mitigate the problem of self-sabotage. However, it should be pointed out that trading systems are not flawless when applied to emotionless trading. In fact, traders often end up transferring their emotions into their system, thus destroying their chances of success.
curve fitting system
A trader's mood first affects a trading system at the beginning of its creation. For example, if a trader is not calm, he may create a system that is not strong enough. He may not see the need for extensive testing, or he may be too lazy to do all the work.
As a result, the trading system is not adequate or in line with market trends. In short, even with a trading system, traders' emotions still dominate.
Failure to follow system transactions
If a trader has created a system, but for some reason, another situation occurs where it is not necessary to follow the system. This situation may occur when the trader's nervousness or lack of confidence or worry overwhelms each trading decision. In this case, although the system already exists, human emotions once again override the system and destroy its chances of success.
It should be noted that this can happen at any time; when opening a position, positioning squaring, activating stop loss/take profit or looking for trading signals. Every trading element must be taken into account when designing the system, and the system should be strictly followed in order to obtain the correct results.
Adjust the system
Another overlooked way to affect your system and ruin your chances of success is to constantly tweak the system you've created or switch to something else. Frankly, the system you've built may have taken a long time, so generally don't adjust easily or switch to a different system too quickly. Trading systems take time to develop and perfect, so with a little more patience, maybe the system will end up being productive.
And of course there's a problem with that. If we can't modify the systems that we're using, how can we ever be perfect?
The answer is that adjustments to the system should be made very gradually. They should be based on historical trends and fully tested during and after implementation. This is the only way to ensure that your system does not destroy your chances of success.
