How to Spot Forex False Deviations? CXM Forex Practical Tips
When trading Forex, technical indicators are important analytical tools, but traders often encounter divergences in the direction of the exchange rate movement and the indicator. So, how to identify false divergence patterns? CXM Forex shares some practical lessons for you.
In general, CXM Forex believes that the emergence of false divergences will exhibit the following significant characteristics:
First, only a single time period diverges, while other periods are not synchronized. For example, the daily chart shows a divergence, but neither the weekly nor the monthly chart shows a divergence signal.
Second, divergences occur when the indicator has not yet entered the extreme zone. Usually, using divergences to judge tops and bottoms, the divergence of technical indicators above 80 or below 20 is more reliable, especially after a period of passivation. If the indicator is in the 20-80 range, it is often characterized by a strong correction, not a true divergence, and the market outlook may continue the original trend.
Third, only one indicator diverges, while others are not synchronized. Different technical indicators have different time points for divergence due to differences in design principles. Usually, KDJ is the most sensitive to divergence, followed by RSI, and MACD is the slowest to respond. The reference value of a single indicator divergence is limited. If multiple indicators diverge at the same time, the probability of the exchange rate forming a top or bottom will increase significantly.
In order to avoid misjudging divergences when the trend has not ended, we should confirm the trend direction on the basis of divergence analysis and combine trend lines. While identifying divergence signals, drawing a trend line can effectively filter false signals and reduce the probability of misjudgment. CXM Forex also recommends investors to use a variety of tools to improve the accuracy of analysis.
