Eight Essential Tips for Choosing a Forex Broker
When you want to choose online foreign exchangebrokerThere are some matters that need attention.
#1 - Number of Spreads
The spread, in pips, is the difference between buying or selling a currency at a given point in time.
Forex exchanges are not traded through an exchange center, so spreads can vary depending on the broker you use. Some online forex brokers have variable spreads; some have two spreads depending on day and night.
Some brokers' spreads depend on the position of the market. Spreads are lower when the market is flat and higher when the market is active. I like brokers with fixed spreads because it is safer to trade fixed spreads for a long time.
#2 - Execute
- How fast is the broker's order execution?
Do they offer automated execution?
How much can you trade before applying for a quote?
- Do they bet against customers?
The best way to find out is to apply for a demo account and test it out.
#3 - Leverage Options
Leverage is the ratio of the total amount of money available for trading to your principal. For example, when your ratio is 100:1, your broker will lend you $100 for every $1 of principal. Leverage is a must in forex trading because the price of the currency is subdivided into decimals.
Before choosing a broker, you should pay attention to their leverage. Many brokers offer flexible leverage that allows you to choose the one that best suits you.
#4 - Account Type
Pay attention to whether the broker you choose has a mini account. The mini account is designed for new online traders and has a limited investment capital. The minimum deposit requirement is only $300 or less.
#5 - Trading Platform
Good trading software wants to display real-time prices you can trade, rather than just symbolic quotes. It also offers limit and stop orders, and allows you to reset incoming orders. Alternative orders are another useful feature - meaning you can set up your trades and let the software execute them.
#6 - Trading tools and value-added services
Choose an online Forex broker that offers the best resources and information to help you make an informed decision. A good company should offer real-time charts, technical analysis tools, real-time news and data, and software or website customer service. Stay away from brokers who refuse to disclose information or test versions before applying for an account. You need to test their system before you choose to deposit.
#7 - Customer Service
Forex is a 24-hour market, so your Forex broker should provide 24-hour customer service. You should also find out if you can position squaring over the phone - especially if your computer or network is down. You can contact their web service center to find out if you can get quick help.
#8 - Get a referral
Consult around and on Forex forums to find out which broker others use and why they choose this one.
